With a tenant in situ, the client wanted MSPS to restyle her second house in Hastings in one day. Having seen little more than photographs MSPS co founder Lucy with the aid of friend and co-stylist Antonia Deeson set about making this a home a little more considered and colourful with thoughtful smalls placements and art integrating with what was already there.
The kitchen was tidied up and jars of beans brought in as well as Scandinavian ceramics and wooden pieces.A copper coffee set and Vietnamese fishing basket lampshade enhanced the previously bare space around the Ercol dining area.
The sitting room got a new coffee table to bring some rounder shapes to the room as well as cushions, throw, plants, rugs and ceramics with two pots by Talia James (@taliadesignermaker on instagram ) brought in for texture. A Cherner chair added a musical note to a makeshift desk table already in the room.
Textured elements were added to the downstairs bathroom with a black and white rug brought in and Wabisabi pots mixing with shells already there.
The chest at the back of the bathroom was stuffed with baskets and children’s slippers to soften the space up and carefully placed smalls, soaps and plants brought in to enhance the space.
Making sure the theme worked throughout Lucy and Antonia utilised the Cherner and basket lampshade again in the tiny bedrooms bringing in a marble topped side table for one room and wicker stool for the other, ceramics, maclamp, Cherner chair, art, rugs, throws, cushions and ceramics.
